Our Spare Change

It's time for another introduction to a small business I just can't get enough of.

Our Spare Change was started by sisters Hillary and Danielle with a love of storytelling.  What started out as spare change left in the car after a road trip, ended in beautiful jewelry with words, or phrases that would welcome a question of meaning and spark conversation.

Now at just a couple years old, their business is to help you share your story in hopes the Lord is glorified through each piece. Imprinting a word or phrase on a coin to wear as a necklace or bracelet, sparking a conversation and a chance to share your story that may not have happened otherwise.

Their story is beautiful, and as I spoke with Hillary to know more about Our Spare Change, I heard a passion and authenticity that was refreshing.  She shared their story with me and we chatted about all sorts of things.

Check out Our Spare Change and open the door to share your story and create a beautiful piece to spark that conversation!

no.41

We’ve been away for a while enjoying all things summer, you know - family reunions, trips to the beach and family vacations!  I hope you haven’t been worried about us!

We’re back and ready to introduce you to another awesome partner with plenty to offer all year long!!

no.41

no.41 literally means “for one”. The idea was: FOR ONE child. FOR ONE meal. FOR ONE year. For just $75, a young woman earns a sustainable income and she sows back into her community by providing a child with a hot, healthy lunch every day at school.

I spoke with Tara, founder of no.41 to find out more.  I was very interested to see how this worked!

In 2011, Tara moved into the Noel Orphanage in Rwanda and saw many things she’d like to help change, but chose to focus on the oldest girls in the home, trying to encourage them and give them the support to go to university while also focusing on the lack of a school lunch program.

Since no.41 has been working with the young women from the orphanage, all of the girls have moved out and 19 enrolled in university!

no. 41 is looking to go even further and has dreams to become even more sustainable by growing their own food, providing even more jobs.

By shopping with no.41, you are helping these young women earn a sustainable income, giving them the ability to enroll in university while also feeding a child.

bonJoy Box

bonJoy Box is a wonderful subscription box with a mission to connect you with brands and organizations who are serving and creating opportunities for women.

I had the pleasure of talking with Julie, co-founder of bonJoy box, and we talked about her heart for focusing on human trafficking and wanting consumers to be able to find conscious brands easily.

bonJoy makes sure each product is made ethically, and provides fair wages to those who made it.  Their boxes are certified carbon neutral and use recycled packing. Julie and her partner Esther, talk to each company making sure each product is ethically made and sourced, while also making sure the brand is actively involved with restoring women who have survived trafficking.

In these boxes you’ll find anything from jewelry, lip gloss, perfume, lotions, coffee, and the list goes on!

Stop it right there.  You had me at coffee!

Each box contains an envelope with all the information about the items inside and who the partner benefits, as well as a note with why they picked the products. The integrity of this company is amazing, and I was able to hear first hand from Julie about her heart for the company, the women they support, and her ideas to help change the world through trafficking awareness.

bonJoy gives $1 from every purchased box back to their partner, and when you check out you have the option of adding an extra donation that will go straight to that particular organization.

This is a great way to find new products and conscious organizations! You’ll love the boxes that come to you quarterly and all for a great price!
